21 Down, 19 To-Go

  21 weeks
How far along? 21 Weeks
Total weight gain? 2lbs! Woo Hoo!!!!
Maternity clothes? Charles made me buy some. I’m glad he did because they are THE MOST COMFORTABLE things ever!
Stretchmarks? Nope! But REALLLYYYYY itchy!
Sleep? eh. I keep waking up sore all over like I’ve done a really intense ab workout after running a marathon. Whew!
Best moment this week? Knowing we are almost halfway to baby Allison being here!
Miss Anything?  I miss NOT having acne. I miss NOT being sore every second of my life.
Movement? Yes! For about 2 weeks now! She is a little dancer! I have limited my caffine intake to only 2-3 times a week because it makes her move so much, I don’t want her to get all loopy! 🙂
Anything making you queasy or sick? Still having an empty stomach and a full bladder!
Gender Prediction? It’s a girl! Allison Elizabeth Darby
Labor Signs? None. Braxton Hicks contractions here and there but thankfully not the real deal yet!
Symptoms? Exceptionally sore abdominal and back areas. UGH…I just want it to stop. Medicine doesn’t really help either.  Also I’m extremely itchy.
Belly Button in or out? In but if I lean back the top pooches out. It’s disgusting.
Wedding Rings on or off? On.
Looking forward to? Getting all of her stuff washed and ready to go for her arrival.

16 Weeks!

Is it May yet? Now that I’m feeling well all I want to do is fix up his or her “nursery”, find out if we are having a boy or a girl, and holding them! I seriously can NOT wait for he or she to get here!
I have to tell you a story that happened this week, my husband is A NATURAL. Charles and I were babysitting Abigail on Tuesday evening and he took her right away, fed and burped her; changed her diaper (he didn’t know which was the front or the back so that was interesting and hilarious to watch); talk sweet nothings to her (MY FAVORITE); and when I had a momentary freak-the-hell-out moment (more on that later), he took her from me and walked around the apartment calm as a cucumber soothing her. I have NEVER been more proud of him and I knew from that moment that he is going to be the BEST daddy in the world. I could not have chosen a better man to spend the rest of my life with and be the daddy of my children. They are going to be some lucky kids.
My freak-the-hell-out moment happened because Abgail started screaming her head off all of a sudden and it hit me that in 5 months or less this is going to be our lives. All of these emotions started flooding my brain, what if I can’t make them stop crying, what if I’m doing something wronge, etc. Thank GOD Charles was so calm, it’s comforting to know that he will be my rock when I freak out!
P.S. I’ll add a picture later, but there isn’t anything too exciting. Still looks like I’m just fat.
How far along? 16 Weeks
Total weight gain? Lost 6lbs. What?! I thought I was supposed to be gaining. I called the Doc. and they said it’s fairly normal and don’t worry too  much.
Maternity clothes? nope. I am falling out of my regular clothes. 😦 I just want my baby bump already!
Stretchmarks? not yet.
Sleep? Insomnia anyone?
Best moment this week? Hitting the 4 month mark and getting to hear baby’s heartbeat on Monday!
Miss Anything?  Not really. This trimester has been awesome so far. It’s so good, I’m getting super impatient about having to wait another 5 months for baby to acutally be here.
Movement? None yet. Probably won’t feel any for another 3-6 weeks or so.
Anything making you queasy or sick? Having an empty stomach.
Gender Prediction? Boy? Girl? IDK I’m so confused!
Labor Signs? None.
Symptoms? I still have to pee, A LOT! I also have been experience “round-ligament” pains which are the pulling and stretching of the ligaments supporting my uterus…they don’t hurt too bad but when I cough, it’s game over.
Belly Button in or out? In.
Wedding Rings on or off? On.
Looking forward to? Feeling those first little movements from our little baby!

Baby Darby at 16 Weeks!

How Big is Baby? About the size of an avocado. Average of 4.6  inches from crown to rump and a little over 3.5oz. He or She is growing bigger and bigger everyday!

Major changes occurring?

Not too many major changes are occuring, baby is just getting bigger and stronger with every passing day. Baby can definitely hear Charles and I talking to him or her. Knowing he or she can finally hear us makes being pregnant so real.

I haven’t felt any movement from baby but doctors say for first time moms, it’s completely normal to not  feel anything until 22 weeks. That seems like forever away, so hopefully I will feel him or her soon!

His or Her hair is starting to sprout on their cute little noggin. They also have eyelashes and eyebrows. I think they are going to come out blonder than all get out. Both Charles and I were pretty blonde headed kiddos. We shall see soon!

Baby Darby at 15 Weeks!

How Big is Baby? About the size of a naval orange. Average of 4 inches from crown to rump and a little over 2.5oz. He or She is growing bigger and bigger everyday!

Major changes occurring?

Litte baby is dancing away. Hopefully only a couple more weeks before I can finally feel my little dancing queen…or king.

ALL of baby’s joints and limbs are working now and fluidly too. She can bend her arms and legs, open and close her little fists and clench her little toes.

It’s too soon for me to feel but she or he may have the case of the hiccups from time to time.

Baby’s day is not all sleeping its actually full of practice. Practicing to swallow, sucking and breathing.

Baby’s facial features are also becoming more properly positioned on his or her little face. The ears are in their permanent home and the eyes continue to move towards the front of the face.

That’s all this week for baby’s development! Stay tuned for new and exciting updates next week!

15 down — 25 to go!

I am still trying to wrap my head around the idea that we have already been expecting for almost 4 months already! Time sure is flying by…I hope our little guy or gal doesn’t grow up that fast. 😦 I know usless wishes. Anyways on a more happy note… I am feeling better and better everyday especially since the stress of school is about to cease to exist as I know it. Only 5 more weeks until graduation and until we find out if we are going to have a little prince or princess.
I don’t know how much consideration to take in old wives tales regarding the sex of the baby…buuutttt all of the ones that I have done have said girl…so now I’m really confused and will just have to wait and see. AHH! I’m super excited…can’t you tell?
P.S. The Sideways picture is all your getting I have no FREAKING idea why it won’t rotate. UGHHH! I’m done messing with it.
How far along? 15 Weeks
Total weight gain? 2-3-ish lbs. (We’ll know for sure next week at the Dr.)
Maternity clothes? nope.
Stretchmarks? not yet.
Sleep? Eh…depends. My back has already started to hurt so that makes sleep a little more uncomfortable.
Best moment this week? realizing that in 2 to 3 weeks I should start feeling our little one bust a move!
Miss Anything?  My back not hurting. I feel like an old lady limping and shuffling around.
Movement? None yet. Probably won’t feel any for another 2-3 weeks or so.
Anything making you queasy or sick? I have been so much better on the sick front, other than Charles and I  both caught a really bad case of allergies or a cold.
Gender Prediction? Boy? Girl? IDK I’m so confused!
Labor Signs? None.
Symptoms? I still have to pee, A LOT! Still pretty tired in the evenings but am able to stay up later and later every night! No more 7 PM bed time for this momma-to-be.
Belly Button in or out? In.
Wedding Rings on or off? On.
Looking forward to? Feeling those first little movements from our little baby!

Baby Darby at 14 Weeks

How Big is Baby? About the size of a lemon. Average of 3.4 inches from crown to rump and a little over 1.5oz. He is growing bigger and bigger everyday!

Major changes occurring?

Little baby is able to suck his tumb and is still wiggling his little toes! He is also starting to grow hair on his cute little head, I am going to guess he’s blonde and can be. His little eyebrows are also starting to come in. In addition to hair on his head and face he is growing a thin layer of downy hair calle lanugo, largely there for warmth. He will lose this layer of hair once he has accumulated fat to keep him warm.

This part grosses Charles out the most but little baby is actually producing urine. Don’t worry it’s just amniotic fluid but he swallows it to practice “eating” which will be essential to survival once out of the womb. If he’s “eating” that means he’s producing urine, putting his kidneys are doing their job! Don’t worry none of this hurts little baby it is actually very very beneficial to his survival later on!

That pretty much sums up Baby Darby’s development this week…in one more week there will be a whole bunch of new and exciting developments, so stay tuned!

14 Weeks- Trimester Two!

We made it to the timester two! The trimester termed “The Honeymoon Phase” lets just say I am beginning to see what they mean! I don’t feel awesome ALL the time but boy do I feel BETTER! I don’t know how much better it can get compared to how I felt before. 🙂 Anyways…here are this week’s stats.

Miss Anything?  I feel so much better than I have been so right now I’m in heaven! 🙂
Movement? None yet. Probably won’t feel any for another 4 weeks or so.
