How Big is Allison? About the size of a grapefruit. The average babe is about 10.5 to 11.8 inches long (hold up a sheet of standard printer paper…that’s one long baby!). The average baby around this time weighs anywhere from just under a pound to a pound and half! GOSH! She is huge compared to the little poppy seed she started out at 23 weeks ago! 🙂
Major changes occurring?
Not too many major changes are occuring, baby is just getting bigger and stronger with every passing day. Allison is moving like crazy though! She is getting stronger and bigger making it easier for me to feel her on a more regular basis.
Her face is fully formed but needs a little more fat to fill out. If we could peak a look inside we would be able to tell who she looks like.
Her hearing is getting better and better everyday and she is listening to mine and Charles’ voices and my heartbeat. Now that I am commuting to College Station for work I try and sing her a couple of songs and talk to her…it’s crazy because after a while she starts to move. Either she wants me to hush or she likes hearing my voice. I like the think it’s the latter! 🙂 She also can hear loud sounds such as dogs barking, fire sirens and any other loud noise. She also is able to sense dark and light. If I shine a bright light on my tummy she would try and move away from the light. Already such a smart girl.
The biggest development this week is that she is forming little nipples! (Yes, really!)
Can’t wait to hold my sweet girl and snuggle her! Only 17 more weeks!
